- Two Reale Coin
- Grade One
This Spanish silver piece of eight was minted at the Potosi Mint Bye Assayer M in 1617. Although the coin is not dated, this is the only year in which this assayer produced coins. The obverse features the royal shield and crown of Phillip the third of Spain. The mint mark P is to the left with the Assayer’s Mark below. The denomination is in Roman numerals II to the right. The reverse features the Crusader’s Cross with lions and castles. This nice coin is mounted in A heavy 14 karat gold bezel with a barrel hoop at the top. Grade one two reales sell for $4200 and up at the museum in Key West, and that is with no bezel. This one is accompanied by the ATOCHA certificate of authenticity and it’s guaranteed genuine.
