This silver 4 Reale was salvaged in 1982 by Carl Fismer while working with legendary treasure hunter D. L. Chaney. D.L. received it as part of his division that year. The coin has resided in Captain Fismer's safe until now. Available for sale upon the instructions of Mrs. Chaney. This is the very last coin owned by D. L. Chaney to be sold.
Strong cross side, detailed lions & castles. Thick, heavy shipwreck coin. Shield side shows saltwater, sea bottom encrustations along with excellent detail and full date of 1714.
