This silver coin can be worn on either side because of the three dimensional 14kt. Gold shark bezel. The coin was minted at the Mexico City Mint by Assayer D between 1618 and 1621. The coin has grade one markings but because of the sea wear it is considered a grade 3. I think it’s a grade 2 at worst. The obverse Bears the royal shield and crown of Phillip III of Spain. To the left of the shield is the oM Mintmark. Below that is the D Assayer’s Mark. To the right of the shield is the denomination IIII in Roman numerals. The reverse features the Florenzada Cross unique to Mexico. Grade 3 four reales Were selling at the Fishers for $2400 six months ago, and that’s without any bezel at all. They have gone up a great deal in the last few months because of the anticipation of the 400th anniversary of the sinking of the Atocha next year. Currently they are going for a little more than $3600 and that is just for the coin There is a very heavy three-dimensional well struck gold shark Bezel on the coin as well. This beautiful Treasure is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and is guaranteed genuine. From an old collectors estate. $2995.00
