Over the last 40 years I have probably owned/sold 15 or 20 two reales Q over C. Never in 43 years have I ever seen one with just a plain C like this. It is in a grade one, very fine condition and weighs 6.98 grams. The obverse features the Royal shield and crown of Philip III of Spain, to the left of which is the mint mark P, below which there is a very clear C. To the right is the denomination is Roman numeral II. The reverse features the crusaders cross with lions and castles for Leon and Castile. There’s a pretty good chance the coin did come from the Atocha years ago but got separated, and the certificate got lost. I have owned tens of thousands of treasure coins, and I have never seen or owned one of these. Sold easily for $9000-$14000 in Key West. I am selling it for what it is though, a great rarity and not claiming that it is from the Atocha. Only a possibility. A bargain at $2495.( You will be one of the very few owners of a coin like this in the entire world. ) A COA will be included.
